Michi is an experienced PT who has experience in orthopedics/sports as well as Neuro and TBI. Michi attended University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Sports Medicine. She then attended Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, to earn her master’s degree in physical therapy. She has treated athletes of all levels and ages and continues to do so; she continues to pursue an emphasis in the Performing Arts with a special interest in dance. She has received certifications in Pilates and enjoys incorporating these exercises into her manually-based treatment sessions. She is a Graston certified practitioner and considers her practice focus to be: Manual therapy, sports physical therapy, orthopedic injuries and conditions, post-surgical rehab, body mechanics training and creation of preventative strength and flexibility programs for athletes. She also has a special interest in taping techniques including kinesiotaping/neuromuscular taping for safe and effective return to ADL, sport and reduction of pain. Michi is a part of Achieve’s Performing Arts Medicine Outreach program, and is a liaison to many dance studios, cheerleading organizations and performance centers. She organizes medical care including injury evaluations, physician referrals, nutrition and sports psychology educational seminars as well as overall care for the studios.
